. Current image and reviews:
. NME …"Karin Dreijer Andersson sounds demented, but it’s that feverishness that is key to this magnetic and rewarding album… She uses her insomnia to recreate the trippy world of the young.’
. JONATHAN KROENING... "A rather abstract electronic landscape smattered with Dreijer’s loose vocal can be hypnotic and is, without a doubt, unique. Yet the idiosyncrasies of the ambient tunes lack memorable repetition."
. ANJEE..."i didnt new that this girl was from the knife... this album, in my opinion is lifechanging, powerfull music, and powerfull feelings."
. PLAN B MAGAZINE... " The sinister is innate in Karin's music. Fans of The Knife will immediately recognise that almost _un_recogniseable vocal. Pitchshifted, filtered and encoded, it is neither female nor male, human nor android; it often appears to be not one voice, but several, exhumed, each with their own encrypted, abstract command...The idea that we're continuously attracted to things that may ultimately harm us seems to inform Karin's work"
. KARIN herself said: ..."Andreas leaves the film very open to interpretation; I think it is very important that you can make your own conclusions about what is going on... there's a satisfaction to be had in evading our certainty, in causing us discomfort."
. Fever Ray have toured with artists such as Royksopp and Robyn who have similar styles of image and music and are all primarily from Sweden.
ROBYN>
but i also compare their music and image to...
<GRIZZLY BEAR YEASAYER >
. We will enforce Fever Ray's unique image in our video with interesting costumes and face paint along with having our actors perform quite abstract and experimentally with dance/movement and also miming the words. we want to put across the unsettling and curious impression that karin talks about to mirror the atmospheric music.
. We hope by illustrating and amplifying expected yet new aspects of their genre the audience will feel connected and satisfied with the content of the video.
. we will not answer the question 'Why' in our video but leave the audience with an effective impression of imagination with a hint of danger and isolation. hopefully they will create their own interpretation of the song from the video and have thoughts and feelings evoked in them.
. Our main INFLUENCES have come from watching Fever Ray videos, similar artist's videos such as 'Ambling Alp' by Yeasayer, and also looking at masks that i own. i bought the masks because i love dressing up but seeing artistic photographs containing them in magazines sparked an idea of using them for our video.
